In my experience mindfulness and concentration are the
mechanics / technique / whatever you want to call them.
Once you have mastered the mechanics the real advances
came when I changed the direction of my focus from external
to internal. Internal focus lead me to discover a whole, vast,
unexplored universe within. Now the mechanics can be used
to explore this new territory commonly called Yoga (capital "Y.")
