FLAC and Ogg are not compatible with an iPod.

Set your encoder settings (In iTune's preferences under "importing") to
Apple Lossless Encoder. Then rip you discs. The files will be about
10 times larger but no sound quality will be lost.

However, I am of the belief (and this is just an intuition) that any
recorded sound as well as photographs are void of consciousness. A
mechanically reproduced sound/image of a human is superficial and lacks
the important component of dynamic consciousness behind the image,
words, music, instruction, and so on.

We can derive pleasure from listening to recorded music, television,
photos and so on. But there is prime ingredient missing from these
media when we are seeking profound levels of communication. Thus we
become more deeply captivated by live music. Thus the difference in
experiencing a natural disaster or war and watching it on the news.
For this reason yoga is best learned from a live human.
