Author problems with the eagle

Hey;

I'm a big guy, wide shoulders, deep chest, gut. I'm having trouble
getting into the eagle and even the half eagle. I just can't get my
arms together enough to get my palms together. Can someone recommend
some poses or some exercises to help me attain this pose? This one and
the half-twist trunk thing are killing me.

Try lifting the elbows higher, perhaps even level with the face, when
you get into the position. Then there won't be so much chest getting in
the way. Lower them as you feel more comfortable. If that doesn't work
either, the problem is probably in the shoulders (if you feel tension
there when you try the eagle), or your arms are just too short.

Howdy Chris!

Me too!!!

Yoga isn't supposed to hurt. You just do as well as you can without
demanding perfection from yourself.
