YOGA SAVED MY LIFE

| I feel so happy this year thanks to yoga/meditation. Today felt a bit
sad, so I meditated and became aware of my feeling. I became relaxed
and then layed down and started to think about the past and other sad
feeling I had. I almost gave up and had the feeling I should continue
feeling sad. Then suddenly I came back into the meditative position,
put my arms on my legs and meditated again. I didn't know why I did it,
but something gave me the sign. Then I knew these thoughts were false
and that I could decide whether I wanted to be sad, happy or angry. I
am starting to know myself better thanks to yoga/meditation. That is
all. I hope this helps to move other people who are not involved in
yoga, to do prac tise and enjoy it.

Howdy!
I don't understand...
Please explain why "it is absolutely vital to keep it secret."
If the "sense of Self will always remain the same in everyone and
everywhere" wouldn't other people benefit from a person sharing their
insight and experience?

| Yo!
(I don't understand...
Please explain why "it is absolutely vital to keep it secret." )
The Self-Realisation is realisation of OWN SELF - nobody can be
involved; in your own self-perception, self-absorption and
self-illumination - it is only You - who is that One to appear... To
involve someone else is like to take your wife to another man to father
your baby... and call (his) baby yours.
Do u understand now? LOL.

Apparantly not...
That's probably because I'm a non-dualist.
The emphasis on OWN SELF seems to enforce a me/thee dualist
relationship.
Once I have developed my own ideas and have come to my Self-realization
I can not see how the outflow of information FROM me is going to effect
the process.
I can see where FEEDBACK could corrupt the process.
How can my communication it to another person from whom I am never
going to get any response corrupt the process?
Guess I'm getting hung up on the word "SECRET."
There is a world of difference between keeping something a secret and
not having open discussions about it.

Then again...
Maybe you are referring to a principle that I learned working for the
government:
The best way to KEEP a secret is to never let anybody know that you
HAVE a secret!
This would remove all possible temptations to "compare notes."

| Yo... To simplify... normally people are quick to talk about their
spiritual uplift (often only in their minds) and later they feel empty,
like nothing had happened.
By expressing their experience out to someone, they shifting it from
the memory into the verbal state and loosing it, not allowing the
memories to reflect on the spiritual reality...
But I am against the secrecy of the ashrams and gurus, who keep their
secret-like attitude to attract new customers just to blind them with a
secrecy about nothing. The real saints and gurus are everywhere and
they are free of Maya and Self-delusion, as they "do not give a
s***t...."
With Respect
Narayana...

| I agree and disagre with maz. I agree his explanation of the water to
the plant need. I also agree with him that often people who meditate
forget how spiritual and uplifting a session was. I think we should
write evrything down and read it back. I disagree with ' keeping it
secret' . Wasn't a part of the practise of yoga and bussism passed on
through verbal communications? and what about those cultural stories
passed from grandpa to grandpa. That is uplifting and gives us a
CULTURE-realisation instead of a self-realisation. It makes us respect
other people in ones culture/religion.
