One of the predictions of the church which I read before this pope was
installed is that he will be the second to last Pope, he will be of the
Benedictine order and be associated in some ways with olives, it will be
a fairly short papacy...
He is not Benedictine but has called himself Benedict, and the
Benedictines were known as the Olivarians...
Did this Pope chose the name because of its association with the
prophecy's or the other way around... The next Pope is supposed to be a
Peter and he will destroy the Catholic church... The Vatican will be
laid waste.. He will be the antichrist...
I do find this quite entertaining.. Their has already been over a
hundred more popes than the prophesy said... and the original prophecy's
were supposedly written in the 12th century and found in the 16th... and
are widely thought to be fakes...
But then the church is used to that, the Shroud of Turin, the countless
bit of the holy cross... enough to denude a forest... the blood of
Christ. Mary's Milk which I remember when I visited the catholic church
at Walsingham... it was reputed to be liquid at least once a day... I
wonder which priest changed the milk in the vial...
its gone now, modern Catholics would want it tested and would find it
was probably milky water or cows milk or something similar.
