I have 2 kids too, and this stuff is all very scary, but tell me,
when, in your estimation, did parents stop being responsable for
their kids' safety?

What you people are (probably unwittingly) advocating, is essentially
removing that responsability from parents. In effect, the kids will
only be safe if they are taken away and kept under lock & key by
'responsable' people. Well guess what happens then.

Parents are responsable for thier kids, period. Nature made it that
way. If a parent places thier child in a situation of risk, and
something bad happens, it is thier fault. Didn't know the babysitter
was like that? Shoulda. Maybe should've skipped dinner out with the
friends. Didn't know that teacher was like that? Should've spent
a few minutes talking with them.

There is entirely too much willingness to hand responsabilty for
everything over to someone else. If people don't have the skills they
need to judge character then they need to learn them.

I can say these things here, because this is a.m., and taking
responsability is part of deconstructing reality.

Now shut the XXXX up and mind your own XXXXing business.
