Well, yep, that's so; after the revelation (which is
always more or less the same -- "don't do crap to other
people that you wouldn't like them to do to you, and
try to be more than decent to each other and appreciate
the beauty of the world" -- come the priests, and then
it's "Don't eat this, don't wash that, don't approve of
anybody who does differently, and give me money for
telling you what X said you are supposed to do."
Presto: an organized religion, just like all the other
grabby scams. That's why we keep having to have the
revelators drop in (despite the ugly stuff we tend to
do to them in return) to remind us that all the rules
and money-grubbing aren't It. I'd say we're about
due for another one, wouldn't you? More likely a dozen
or so, since there's a lot more territory to cover and
human population to reach in the short time you get
to do your reminding before some idiot comes huffing
and puffing along and shoots you.
