I was on the USAF Aviation medicine boards and a user posted this link...

http://www.lasikathome.com

LASIK@Home....

Another user's first reaction was; OMG.. WTF..

I shuddered in terror when I saw the pics of the self LASIK operation.

For only 99 dollars...

This has to be a spoof site or a scam for the really gullable.. Apart from
the obvious, a device containing 2 femtolasers for $99?

Check out the step by step page and the drawing warning what happens if you
blink: smoke pouring from the eye!

Spoof is also the concensus view on the Digg site
((http://digg.com/deals/Do_it_yourself_Lasik_)

The product is obviously fake, but the promotional items ( shirts, hats, cups, etc) are real. My guess is someone wanted to make money on lasik without the risk of actually doing the surgery. I bet they get a few orders.. Wish I would have thought of it!

Rats, I was all set to order several sets for Christmas. The site
didn't mention whether they could be re-used.
