| I have a spot in the vision field of each eye. They appear as
stationary gray areas (not floaters). They are noticable in low light
conditions, or when looking at something bright and with no contrast
(like a blank document on my monitor screen). Additionally, the one in
the left eye seems to sort of scintillate when looking at something
that's bright and with no contrast, like a bright blue sky.
When I close my eyes, they appear as light colored spots for a few
seconds and then fade to normal blackness, very much like what happens
when you look at a lightbulb and then close your eyes - you see the
after-image for a few seconds and then it fades away.
They are pretty small, the one in the left eye appears to the upper
left of whatever I'm focusing on, the right eye just slightly to the
left. I had a retinal exam about a week ago and the doctor found
nothing out of the ordinary. I'm scheduled for a visual field test
next week.
Any ideas on what this could be? I'm 37 and don't wear glasses.
Thanks all.
