| I have watery eyes. In particular, it seems to have started after cataract
surgery of my second eye, the right eye. It really seems to be a faucet.
Is there any known association of watery eyes with cataract implant surgery?
Does wateryness in one eye produce a sympathetic wateryness in the other
eye? My left eye waters, but not nearly as much as the right eye.

| You should discuss this with your eye doctor. Here are some possibilities:
1. Normal inflammation and healing of the surgical eye is causing some
irritation. The eye can respond to this by reflex tear production. This
should pass as your eye heals.
2. Perhaps one of your tear ducts (on the inside corners of your
eyelids-- both upper and lower) has become swollen and narrowed. These
ducts are the drains where tears normally flow out of your eye into your
throat. If they become narrowed or obstructed, then tears will accumulate
in your eye and even run down your cheek. Narrowing of the ducts can be
related to swelling and inflammation from the surgery, or perhaps other
causes. This can be treated by your doctor as well.
Good luck,
RM
PS-- a political message: If Bush is so good at protecting us and fighting
the war against terrorism, why is the Osama Bin Laden still cutting videos
three years after the war started? Why is our military bogged down in Iraq
where there were no terrorists (at least until we arrived) when the guy who
really is responsible for 9/11 is posing on TV?
Thinking people unite! We can't stand four more years of this moron! Make
an intelligent choice people!!
