| Kind folks,
I've found two online databases of mammography images. Both rely upon
weird image formats and don't have working search functions. I've
remedied that with a repackaged version of the mini-MIAS database, a
115mb download from here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/30dd2f/
If no one downloads this file within a week, it will be deleted. These
free sharing sites also seem to have a short (business) life. If you
think you -might- be interested, download it -now-.
This version of the mini-MIAS offers lossless images in the universally
supported .GIF format, as well as a searchable (via Excel or
OpenOffice.org's Calc) version of the database.
The Excel file can be downloaded separately, if you so desire, from here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/213b55/
All of this data is derived directly from the main mini-MIAS page and
its FTP site:
http://peipa.essex.ac.uk/info/mias.html
The original license is in the main zip. Note this is supposed to be
free for research, but citations of its use are required.
....
I did this for my father, but thought other mammographers might benefit.
Mini-MIAS seems unsupported (I never got a reply to an e-mail, at
least). The "Marathon" image database also seems to be unsupported, but
seems to have its images in a strange beta version of LJPEG, which I
have not been able to convert.
