Hello :-)

A few days ago, I had a Small Bowel Follow Through (i have Crohns
Disease) where i drank 5 cups of Barium. Now, the Doctor wants me to
schedule a CAT (CT) scan of the same abdominal area. How long will it
take for the Barium to exit my body, so that i may then have the CT
done??

Regards,
WebDude!

ps: I've increased my water intake to 4 litres per day.

About 4-5 days. You can have your CT done after a week. If the barium is
still in your intestines after a week, the radiologist will see it in the
"topogram" , i.e. the "CT radiography" that is used for programming the
right exam for your abdomen, right before the CT starts, and you would have
to reschedue.
I would like to remind you that the barium that is used for the small bowel
series is different from the barium that could be used for the CT
(CT-Barium). Nowdays, iodinated oral enema are mostly used (like
gastrografin and others).
Sorry for my english!!

For the CT, Im thinking, they are going to give me an enema AND inject
some contrast media into my i.v.
