| Is this a good field to get into right now? My daughter is applying
for internships in this field once she finishes her BA in Radiologic
Science, and has been discouraged by one of the program advisors
saying that these specialists will be out-of-date in the future!

I heard that nuclear medicine would eventually disappear. I heard it
from a manager of radiology department. That was discouraging too.

| people have been saying that nuclear medicine would disappear soon
for years. People have been saying the same about radiation therapy
for years too.
With the development of more advanced dose delivery methods, radiation
therapy is becoming more sophisticated and effective than ever and
probably isn't the 'treatment of last resort' anymore (at least not
as much as it used to be).
Nuclear medicine is also becoming increasingly useful with new imaging
agents, particularly now with the use of PET and PET/CT for oncology
purposes.
Every specialty eventually becomes obsolete one day, but for these two
fields I don't think that will be happening any time soon. The two
people telling you this are either way out of touch with what is going
on in their field or have other reasons for discouraging you from
entering them.
