I see many travel nurse agencies recruiting rad techs as well for
travel assignments.

In your expert opinions, is this something that actually takes place in
the real world? Are there actual opportunities to travel while
rad-teching?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!

Yes, I have worked with travel techs. They usually work for a company
that will place them anywhere in the USA. A buddy of mine put in and
was lucky to get a job in Alaska for 2 months.

It could be that you will be sent somewhere that your skills are needed
in a place where they cannot recruit their own tech. It is very
expensive to employ travelers, so most med centers will hire their own.

On tech I worked with about 15 years ago, worked for a company that had
a hugh trailor that traveled to diffferent cities in the USA. They
went to companies and did physicals, chest xrays and labs. You had to
know how to do both. You went to a location and stayed til the job was
done. You were put up in a hotel or apartment, not always pleasant
conditions. You had to travel extremely light. They pay was lousy but
she loved the travel experience. She was single.

I would google or got to the asrt.org web site.

Good Luck,Di
