| Can anyone tell me the (real) current job market situation and job
outlook for Radiologic Technologists or Technicians? I know some
sources such as the occupational outlook handbook claim the job
opportunities are favorable and that employment is expected to grow
faster than average but other sources seem to disagree. I want to know
from people (especially from the NYC area) who are job hunting or
currently hold a position in radiology

| I just moved to the NYC area (Nassau County) this past Thanksgiving. After
sending out 30 resumes, I got two interviews and received 2 job offers.
Most resumes sent were to places not hiring (cold-calling). I think 2
responses out of 30 seems discouraging. Most places don't seem to want to
touch a new grad such as myself, even though I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and
got a 94 on the ARRT boards. Maybe it's just this way in NYC; I don't know.
Anyway, I am working, but it did take 30 resumes to get there.
