| I recently had a chest xray (I have been experiencing lung problems with
symptoms similar to emphysema) and my pulmonologist said the xray looked
normal. My question to anyone cool and fantastic enough to help me is: can
xrays show definitively whether or not one has emphysema. What I mean
is...would it be *obvious* if I had it or is it hard to spot on an xray?
Help is 100% appreciated. Thank you so much.

A normal CXR can only show you the indirect signs of emphysema.
Direct proof is obtained by helical CT, or even better HRCT.
