Indigo Laser Treatment or PVP?

| I recently went to the Hattiesburg Clinic Urology Dept(Hattiesburg,
Mississippi) and saw Dr. Randolph Ross. He suggested the Indigo Laser
Treatment. He did say that retro-ejaculation is still a strong
possibility with this non-invasive surgery. I want to know what kind
of percentage or the odds of that occurring to me? I am a 50 year old
male and my wife (me included) is not thrilled that I may no longer be
able to ejaculate normally as I do now. I have NO serious sexual
problems at this time but have advanced BPH, medication is not
working. I would like to know what is the nationwide percentage of
cases that do have retro-ejaculation compared to those that don't with
both PVP and Indigo Laser.
I have read that PVP may be a better course than Indigo Laser.
Also, do you have any information on the Hattiesburg Clinic and Dr.
Randolph Ross or where I can find out information on their success
rate?

| I had a PVP about 17 months ago and have retro-ejaculation. While it isn't
the same as a normal ejaculation the orgasm is about 90% of prior to the PVP
and my wife says it's 100% better. No mess, no fuss is the way she way she
puts it. However, their are some women who like the feeling of semen being
ejaculated into the vagina. If you wife is one of them, that those
sensations will be lost. I don't know the numbers for retro with the Indigo
Laser, but if Dr. Ross would be the surgeon, then you can believe that retro
would be a strong possibility having the Indigo laser procedure.
As for the PVP laser procedure, I can say retro depends on two things. One,
how far into your bladder has the median lobe of your prostate protruded.
The further, the more likely the retro. Two, the skill of your surgeon,
obviously the better the less chance of retro. Also the overall size of
your prostate and how "juicy" your prostate is plays a role in both
procedures. By juicy I mean how much it bleeds doing the procedure. That
hinders the vision of the surgeon as to just where the laser is burning the
tissue.
Both procedures are equally invasive, in that a laser is inserted through a
catheter into the prostate. I believe the indigo laser burns deeper into
the prostate tissue thereby leaving more scar tissue than the PVP laser.

| If you think that Indigo Laser is "non-invasive" you have bad information.
I had PVP and could not be more pleased. I think PVP is generally
considered to be less "invasive" than Indigo, but it is still surgery.
Soon after PVP I had normal ejaculations, then I went full retro, now at
close to one year post PVP I am partial. The differences have been
barely noticeable - it's no big deal.
