15.5 months post PVP and blow a chunk.

| I had my PVP 15 and half months ago. After a painful period of recovery
that I would like to forget, I considered the operation a success and still
do. Today I was surprised when my urine looked dark and left an inch long
chunk of dark tissue in the toilet.
I thought all the healing was over a long time ago but was surprised by this
chunk. There was no pain and a subsequent urination was normal. I should
mention that this urination followed a vigorous period of exercise. I had
just hiked the "Billy Goat Trail" of the C & O canal in Maryland. This is a
five mile rock scrabble up and over a lot of hills. I did stumble once but
landed on my shoulder and did not hurt myself. I lead a very active life
style that includes frequent hikes high into the mountains. This is the
first time I have passed a chunk in a very long time. I wonder if this is
typical.

| Dave,
Was this a blood clot or prostate tissue? Easy to tell if you touch it.
I had lots of problems & difficult recovery from both of my PVP's
(especially the first) & still have retrograde from the last one in Dec.
But my flow is good. I still get up 1 or 2 times a night to pee.

I don't know. I did not touch it.
I did notice an improvement is the ease of urination after I passed it. The
stream is bigger and louder now. I was slowing down a bit prior to passing
this thing. I passed another tiny thing last night. This second one looked
like a tiny scab about 1/4 th the size of a dime, Lacy and red. The earlier
one was dark gray and seemed to have some thickness to it. Maybe it was
dead tissue.

How long has it been since your last PVP? I'm told that retro can recover
up to three years after the surgery.

| Last December.
My doc thinks I'm probably stuck with it.
I haven't given up hope.
