Methanol blinds the left eye by attacking the cells that make up its
lens. Symptoms are:

1. Visual distortion; 2-D images appear 3-D; visual hallucinations
2. Loss of image perception
3. Loss of color perception
4. Sudden and complete blindess; subject cannot tell even dark or
light!; the description is usualy "seeing nothing at all", no light, no
darkness. Just totaly blank. Wierd feeling!

Actually, methanol is converted to formaldehyde by an enzyme in the liver
called dehydrogenase. Formaldehyde is a potent toxin that can cause
seizures, blindness (in both eyes, not just the left), metabolic acidosis,
coma, and death.

That is being generous. I think troll is more likely.
Unfortunately an important subject that needs correction.
Accurate information is trivially easy to find:

Note the heavy use of ethanol as an antidote: it blocks
(competition) the oxidation pathways to reduce the formic
acid generation and allow elimination.
