| Last year I started having unexplained fevers. I would get them, joints
would hurt, have chills and feel terrible. The next day I would be fine
as if nothing happened. The seemed worse int he March April May time
frame. They were afraid of lymphoma. Had a gallium scan that showed a
spot of gallium uptake somewhere around my right lung. Follow up ct
scan showed everythign normal. They said to for get about it.
Well starting this year in March again I have 3 boughts of fevers in 3
weeks. Same scanerio, fever of 101-102.6 chills aches cold. Then next
day everything fine.
Went to a general practicioner last week. Took some blood. LDH
(supposedly for lymphoma) was negative. ANA was negative. Thyroid was
negative.
But he calle dme earlier today to say my lyme test was positive. But
here is what I dont understand. There is a serious of several tests for
lyme. He said to have clinical lyme disease you need 5 positive. I had
3, but he said "The three I have positives are the main ones that
concern lyme disease." He wants me to be on doxycylene for 3 weeks.
Maybe then redo blood tests and he daid maybe another ct scan just to
be safe. (I guess to ensure not lymphma).
How can he think I have lyme disease and only have 3 positive of the 5
needed for clinical diagnoses? I live in south central Kentucky. I do
get out but I cant remember ever having a tick bite or anything.
Why do these seem worse in the March April May timeframe? I am so
frustrated. I am only 34 years old and feel like I am runnning in
circles trying to figure this out.
Plus about a month agi I was on zithromax and then a week later because
my fever came back Septra. (Both from another doctor) Wouldnt that have
done the same thing the doxycycine would? (The Septra I was on about 2
weeks)
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hello,
I am NOT a doctor. It's my guess that your doctor is of the opinion that
you have Lyme disease and wanted to start the treatment program ASAP to
help solve some of the health problems you are now having. It was a
judgement call.
I suggest that you ask your doctor to test you related to mercury and
other heavy metals since some of the symptoms you mentioned in your post
may have been caused by those things. It's my opinion that you have an
excellent doctor. You may want to ask your doctor to refer you to a
specialist.
