Since asthma and COPD are 'classified' as .. the .. same .. one might
find it interesting theophylline is used in both diseases.

Theophylline has been shown to DECREASE the production of red blood
cells.

At one time bloodletting .. which decreases the .. NUMBER of red blood
cells was used in asthma and COPD.

Recently bloodletting in COPD has been shown to BE .. 'beneficial'.

Is the REASON .. theophylline is/was used .. in BOTH diseases DUE TO
the fact .. increased red blood cells are PROFOUNDLY involved in the
CAUSE .. of .. asthma AND / or COPD .. ?

Transferrin .. a very effective iron BINDER has been shown to have some
VERY beneficial effects in those with asthma / COPD .. and since there
is a GENETIC form of iron overload which hits the Celts / Irish /
Scottish / English .. could the RESULTS .. the VERY benefical results
... found IN those with asthma / COPD be related TO this fact of
increased iron load .. ?

Asthma has now reached epidemic proportions .. coincidentally? .. in
those WITH .. Celtic .. roots.

Since .. iron load / hemochromatosis has NOW been shown to cause
INCREASED red blood cells production / erythropoiesis .. ?

Theophylline = medical / pharmaceutical .. simple bloodletting /
phlebotomy / venesection .. ?
