| The reference ranges are:
Prolactin 5.1 0-20
Testosterone 387 260-1080
SHBG 53H 7-50 which reflected the SBGH as
being abnormal.
The Lab used was Quest Diagnostics/Nichols Institure, San Juan
Capistran, CA.
I know the Testosterone in within the lower 15% of the range and there
may be further reduction based upon the SBGH.
Should I now request that another test be performed to confirm the
results? My Doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. I am, bone loss
etc..........
I'm a 61 year old male and have posted this message on another group
and am trying to obtain several opinions.
Thank you for your interest.

I don't think that you need any more tests to confirm the results. I agree
with your doctor. I believe that all readings are within normal limits
except for one and it's very close to being within normal limits. My
advice is to wait for at least three months and then ask your doctor for a
new test. In the mean time, you should do some research or ask your doctor
if there are any things you should do to improve your condition such as
special exercises or special diets.

You are welcome. Also consider visiting a health food store
and ask the manager if there are any vit., minerals or herbs
that could help you. They might even have some book or booklets
about your condition.
