| Hi,
I did have high blood pressure (140/100), and for about 4 weeks I was taking
25mg of Atenolol (a beta blocker) per day. It was 2 weeks ago today since
I took my last tablet. My BP is now down to 125/80 and is staying there
despite not taking the tablets anymore.
But I have a problem. Nearly 2 weeks ago I stated to get these slight
muscle twitches all over my body. They've happened to me in the past, but
only on brief odd occasions. And I stress they're not really a nuisance,
but now they seem to be basically there all the time. Indeed, on the odd
occasion (4 or 5 times in the past 2 weeks), my whole body seems to have
been trembling, but not so much so that one can overtly see it.
Actually, regarding this latter point, my symptoms (albeit perhaps in an
attenuated form) seem to be rather similar to what this person describes in
a post made to usenet 11 years ago.

Unfortunately her problem didn't disappear, and she started another 2
subsequent threads over the next 3 months.

Anyway, for the first few days after it started I thought it most likely was
caused from the withdrawal symptoms of not taking beta blockers anymore.
But now it's been 2 weeks since my last tablet; so this hypothesis is no
longer looking very likely is it? Or, in regards to the 3rd link, could it
somehow be caused by excessive computer usage? ( I sometimes am at a
computer about 10 hours non-stop).
I do not know if this is related but I've been suffering from an exaggerated
startle reflex response for the past 2 or 3 years (but not muscle twitches
so far as I am able to recollect). Anyway, I believe I might suffer from
anxiety, so might this be the problem? Or might it be something more
serious?
Any advice appreciated.
