I need help. I have a condition that involves paresthesia/neuropathy.
It started something like this.
Taking Zantac,
Colitis
Taking Asacol and prednisone
Panic anxiety symptoms
Paresthesia neuropathy symptoms, tingling arms, legs, burning etc.
everywhere.
So here is what Ive found.
Low co2 in blood on one occasion.
The more asacol, a strong aspirin relate medicine, I take, the worse
the paresthesia.
With the panic anxiety, low co2, one figures hyperventilation.
I experiment and I find the reverse of what I expect.
If I take large faster deep breaths, the paresthesia is weakened
significantly. In other words if I hyperventilate a bit, the
neuropathy is diminished sometimes completely.
So what are the implications here? I am having more blood work soon.
perhaps the alkalosis is metabolic from the asprin compounds,
prednisone, zantac etc.?
And somehow by breathing in more oxygen, this is set right
temporarily?
A combination resp/metabolic alkalosis?
I am not an expert obviously, just one sick dude.
But what I stated is true, hyperventilating improves the neuropathy
strangely enough.
In which case what would be a possible solution??
