The UK government must intervene on behalf of nine British residents being held
without trial at the US Guantánamo Bay detention centre, Amnesty International
urges today in a report on the impact on inmates' families. "
The UK government's reluctance to act on behalf of long-term residents of this
country is itself shameful and must change. These men have become forgotten
prisoners," Kate Allen, the director of the human rights group, said.
Guantánamo: Lives Torn Apart examines the effect on the 500 prisoners from 35
countries who have been detained without charge for four years.

Fat chance Kate! Poodle Blair is scared to make a stand for freedom from the
dictator in the "Land of the Free", where they lock people up without charge for
four years. Talk about "Land of Delusion".
*snigger*
And a Monkee Boy Lawyer had the gall to tell me "This is America" and actually
sounded proud that he lives in such a country.
*snigger*
At least the House of Lords defend our freedoms as best they can, over here.
*snigger*
When will you stand up and do something *Monkee* *Boy* *Lawyer* ????? Are you
afraid that you might lose your cushy job with the nice office and carpet?
*snigger*
Lord Cerne Abbas
We shall go on to the end, we shall defend our World, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall
fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall
never surrender, and even if this World, or a large part of it were subjugated
and starving, then we would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time,
the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue
and the liberation of the old."
To rebel is right, to disobey is a duty, to act is necessary !
