| Does anyone know if yucca supplements are contraindicated in persons
with liver disease?
I found some research study on two sheep that were studied in NZ and it
looked as if it was ok for liver patients, based on how quickly the
liver metabolized the yucca.
I was recently dx with osteo arthritis in my right hand and most likely
r shoulder and hip joint and doc is prescribing Vicodin ES for pain.
I then saw some infomercial re: arthritis RA and the woman is promoting
a product which contains yucca as well as chorodroiton and glucosamine.
So since I am already taking chodrotin [sp] and glucosaming, I added
some yucca. It is really helping with the pain and I have been able to
cut back on the Vicodin ES, but am now wondering if it is
contraindicated.
hoof

One other note: before going on the glucosamine and chrodrotin, I had
experienced no problems with joint pain!
I am wondering about if those substances that build cartilege have
indeed done what they promised and if that new build up of cartilege is
a cause of this problem.
Oh and my right hand got mangled between a horse and a galvanized
feeder. ( horse got a bit grabby and didn't want to wait).
