Description: NBHAAD is a national mobilization effort designed to encoura=
ge African-Americans, across the United States and its territories, to ge=
t educated about HIV/AIDS, get involved, and get tested.
The NBHAAD initiative presents organizations with an excellent opportunit=
y to encourage HIV/AIDS awareness in their communities.=20
Participating organizations, encourage community-based organizations to t=
ake part in NBHAAD and work with local health departments to coordinate a=
ctivities, provide written and promotional materials, and provide assista=
nce and support to organizations hosting NBHAAD activities. Some of the a=
ctivities that community organizations may choose to host are: (1) Press =
conferences; (2) Community forums/Town hall meetings; (3) Leadership test=
imonials and HIV testing; (4) Distribution of HIV prevention education ma=
terials; (5) Community marches and rallies; (6) Electronic communication =
of educational information; (7) HIV counseling, testing and referrals; an=
