Damn! What a dip that guy is!
BTW: That has me standing corrected on some talking points. I've heard
individuals propose such things on occasion, but obviously the claims of
some official actions are false.
Thanks, Michael

| Michael;
Thanks for the links. . .interesting.
>According to (utterly incorrect) evidence they >offer... it doesn't, and

What kills me about these types; show them that they're mistaken,
incorrect, and downright wrong with the cold, hard facts, and they
STILL persist on spreading pure bullshit as the truth.
"War on Christmas." Yeah, right. I don't know about the rest of the
world, but you'd have to make a real effort to avoid it around these
parts.

If you truly have a problem with someone wishing you a pleasantry, then you
truly have a problem.

| Since Merry Christmas is pretty calendar specific and happy holidays is
pretty neutral I kind of liked Dory's way of thinking.
And then some would say if you have reached adulthood and can't resist
telling another adult they truly have a problem you may yourself truly
have a problem...of course around these here parts I am famous for it
myself. Truly I am.

I really don't much care. If someone says something to me which can only be
considered a "nice" sentiment, even the somewhat annoying "have a nice day",
it's a positive thing.
And anybody who has so little class as to not "take to people" who say a
nice thing to them ("but really, it's not the nice thing I like") doesn't
deserve to have my nice thoughts.
And yes, I've been here a while myself.

From Dory's post:

4 th of july."
Hard to miss her point, I'd say.
If I said "Happy Holidays" to somebody today and they asked if I was talking
about the 4th of July, I'd tell them to shove it.

Well, it wasn't intended that way, but....
You asked in your original post about the weirdness going on in this country
about some fake "war on Christmas". It seems to me that the only war is
against people who choose to try to be more inclusive than just recognizing
Christmas as if it's the only holiday this time of season.
Dory's post irritated me. No apologies for that.

Dory,
George Washington's army crossed the Delaware River on 12/25/1776....so
if you asked *me* am I talking about the 4th of July, I'd probably say
YES...kinda! :-> something happened on 12/25 that pretty much
directly led to their being an American Independence Day. hey, it's all
connected up somewhere! :->
have a very merry Christmas Eve!
