He feared one of his greatgrandparents was Jewish, but I don't think
this was ever proven.
The early Nazi party had homosexuals in it. But Hitler got rid of the
"unsavory" members in a purge when the party came to power. The most
infamous of the early Nazis was a sadist who walked the streets with a
whip.
Hitler was as crazy as they come. Frightening to think so many people
were behind hm and his heinous policies.
If you're interested in the history of Hitler and the Nazi party, I'd
recomnend "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shrirer
(sp?). The author was a newspaper reporter who covered Germany
inbetween the wars, and he saw a lot of the history unfolding while he
was a correspondent there.
