YAY! After about three months of me procrastinating combined with slow
processing of my application, I've finally been approved for Co-pay
assistance. Now I can go to the pharmacy next week and re-start the
Copaxone.

Does anyone have any experience working with the NORD co-pay assistance
program? Any pitfalls I should be prepared for?

Now I just have to get myself all psyched back up for the daily
injections...

hi Lossandra,

way back in the day, NORD had no co-pay assistance; they either funded
the entire thing because you were below the poverty level, or you got
nothing at all. (shakes cane and mutters 'kidz today don't know how
much better they got it, damn kidz!') ;-> just kidding!

but that IS how it WAS, so i've got no experience with co-pay
assistance from them....please let us know how it goes next week, and
if you run into any problems or anything.

best of good fortune!

what will they charge you for co-pay ? mine just keeps going up and up, my
hubby figured out we spent $25.000 on my meds last year, that was my
co-pays, oh and that did include my doctor and specialist co-pays. no wonder
we live in a small apartment, he has a very good job and that being the case
I don't qualify for any kind of help. it just drains us, and still trying to
recuperate from my 11 months in the UK from which we lost thousands and none
of it refundable.

I have health insurance through the university of Oregon...it's a PPO
and covers my meds at 80% leaving me responsible for about $400/month
which NORD has now agreed to pick up for me. I can't even imagine
spending so much money on this disease, I mean, the kinds of jobs I'm
looking at as careers will probably gross barely more than potential
medical expenses. God, I hate money!!!
