I have the sensations of MS HUg and numbness across my entire abdomen.
I swear, this is almost more annoying that having similar problems in
the extremities! The prednisone doesn't seem to touch this symptom
either. Do any of you experience this or other abdominal symptoms and
did they ever clear up?

Thanks,
Steven

hi Steven,

i get the M.S. Hug -- feels like one of those Victorian corsets
squishing my abdomen and trunk!

the neuro never offered me any meds for it -- there may be some that
others have found helpful, but i'm not aware of them if so.

the 'good' news is that this symtpom DOES come and go. even if
Prednisone didn't help, there's a good chance that the pressure-feeling
will improve with time, all on its own.

then it comes back! then it goes away again...

i just deal with it by wearing loose clothing when it happens, no tight
wasitband cutting in, gritting my teeth, getting sort of used to it,
then being real happy when it goes away.

it's definitely an annoying, distracting, frustrating, and sometimes
actually painful symptom -- but for most of us, it abates as it will,
with or without medication.

maybe someone else will have experience with a med that helps, or other
tips for handling it.

best of good fortune!

I have a pressure sensation on my lower right rib cage. Been there for
a few months. I was not offered any kind of med for that specific
issue, but the Neuro put me on a three day Solmedrol drip for a
combination of things that were going on at my last visit. No help from
the steroids for ANY of the things that were going on.

Any MS just WONDERFUL! Makes everyday a new adventure.

I get the MS "hug." Feels like I'm wearing a steell lbra and it's 10
sizes too small.

Valium is the only thing that will touch this one. I wait it out for
about 20 minutes before I take any, though. Sometimes it will just go
away on its own.

Lately, the drug war has reached its ugly tentacles into my neuro's
office, so my dose has been cut in half, so I have to use it sparingly.
Hey, if you can't CURE the damn disease, at least make it more
bearable! GRRRRRR!!!!!!
