| Hello all.
I was diagnosed MS 3 years ago, and was getting weekly shots for a
little more than two years. Now I belong to the SP group, so I quited
the shots and only some natural meds.
I live in Chile, (south america) and I enjoy and learn reading your
postings.
Have a great day all of you....

hi rpc! i was diagnosed 15 years ago, and went from RR to SP in 2000. i
continued injecting Copaxone daily for a while after the diagnostic
switch, but eventually discontinued.
after secondary progression and disability retirement, i gave up on a
lot ofthe drugs i'd been taking. now i use coffee as my anti-fatigue
med, cannabis as my disease modifier (hee -- it does have
neuroprotective effects, but i'm also just being silly!), more moto for
spasm, spasticity, and pain, Valium for spasticity here and there,
green tea, cat's claw, fun stuff like that. ;->
i also do hatha yoga, every single day, and make sure to haver as much
fun as possible! that's pretty much myu own SPMS 'treatment regimine'
right there!
welcome to ASMS, i'ts nice to 'meet' you.
best regards,
rose

| Hi Rose:
I have almost all the simptoms, two ON, almost blind of one eye, barely
walk (cane asisted), numbness, fatigue etc.. the only thing I never had
is bowel problems.
Actually I only take fish oil (capsule every morning), amantadine for
fatigue and velvet deer capsules a friend from NZ sent to me.
To be honest the velvet deer thing is not harmful and not producing any
benefit too ... is just an "automatic" thing I do every morning.
I was tryeing Atorvastatin too.. but it produces me weak muscles .. and
that associated with fatigue is way too much!
The only thing has been good for me is Sildenafil (Viagra) 3 or 4 times
a week. It gives me a little more strength and for some reason I feel
better the next morning.
ahh add some green tea to my life and 0,5 of Ravotril every night
I drink coffee as crazy.. and I smoke.. cannabis is illegal down here
... and I preffer to be in the legal side :-)
Now I will try Kalawalla for 3 months ... If it is another scam, I'll
let you know..
Retired now (for disable) and enjoying life as much as I can
Thanks

Is this the stuff they get from a cactus? Somebody just told me about
a cactus product that does about everything.
Let us know how the Kalawalla goes!

| Hi Sylvia
Don't know if it is a cactus. Only thing I know is a plant polypodium
leucotomos.
Found in Medline it lowes IL-6 one of the inter leukin harmful for us.
I will try it for 3 months and I'll let you know if in my case it carry
some benefit.
The good thing is I do not have RR so I can notice when something is
good or bad for me ...

I've known soe people could sit in a bathtub filled with the stuff and
still look old and wrinkled.

There are problems with looking younger anyway; however, having a
choice between that and looking older than I am now, hey! what the
hell, go for it.

hi Sylvia, it's not the cactus stuff, Kalawalla is a fern-like plant
that's native to Honduras and parts of Guatemala.
what i've read indicates it does have anti-inflammatory properties, and
works on IL-something or another -- kind of makes me think it ight be
better for RRMS than SP, but i've never tried it personally, so...who
knows?
best,
rose
