Psoriasis support - itchy scrotum

I've had itchy scrotum for over 10 years. It's so bad now that I wake
up in the middle of night by my scratching. It often bleeds due to
excessive scratching and sometimes it burns when I walk. I've visited a
dermatologist and all he could offer me is some kind of steroid ointment
advising that I shouldn't use it for too long. Anybody have similar
experience? I need help. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound much like psoriasis, more like a fungus infection, aka
"jock itch". Ask your local pharmacist for an over the counter
anti-fungal, or just use the athelete's foot stuff (usually the jock
itch formulas are milder).

Also, try washing down there with an anti-dandruff shampoo, head and
shoulders, or T-Gel.

I've used steroid cream on mine with no issues for years now. Not
continuously, but whenever I have a flare up.

I'd be extremely careful with the steroids in that area. I had a P
problem in the skin folds on each side about 10 years back. Skin
atrophy turned my skin purple. It was so thin, I felt like I could
tear it just by walking around. It didn't take many applications at
all to get that way and took a couple months to grow back. I think the
area had an occlusive effect.

I second the anti-fungal powder. Don't get the arisol spray powders,
they burn. Get the foot powder in a squeeze bottle, tinactin I think.

Same for me... I have to only use good, fragrnace frr washing liquid,
shops & shampoos.

It's not always a surface thing. Can be Orchidosis - an infection or
inflammation of the very large group of blood vessels in the scrotum.

I have the same problem, but I've found that it's caused by natural
body oils on the skin and can lead to "jock itch". I also suffer from
Psoriasis and I'va found something that causes easement in "jock itch"
as well as taking care of the external skin ailments. Shea butter in
it's pure form is a butter yellow coloured balm from the Shea tree in
Africa....many cosmetic and shampoo companies are putting trace amounts
in their products and I'm also using soap from African Heritage....one
can buy it online....but the Shea butter in pure bulk form comes in a 2
pound jar, and it's wonderful, after using it for 3 weeks ( rub it on
all afflicted areas) the skin problem is gone and the "jock itch"
problem is gone instantly, I now use it on THAT area twice a week, and
I sleep itch free!
I can't say that it will work more or less quickly oin anyone else,
but it came highly recommended to Me and I saw results after three
days...the groin problem immediately....rub it all over the perineal
region as well as the scrotum, and I'd be willing to say that you'll
feel much better. It DOES have a 'smoky" scent to it but it goes away
when you apply it...Good Luck

Get your Derm to prescribe Beta-Val cream. I use it and it is gentle,
but works exceptionally well..
