Just had first Enbrel injection
|
|
|
| Thought I would let everyone know I just got my Enbrel via FEDEX and gave
myself the first of many injections to come. 50mg twice weekly. I must be
pretty good with a needle because I did not even feel the thing or the
typical burning that folks talk about. Absolutely no sensation at all. Hope
they all go that way.
Take care,
Mark

Hi Mark,
I hope you have good results with Enbrel. I have been on it, 50mg per
week, 15 months and am very pleased, my P was gone in the first 5
months.
I am surprised at the new users doing 50mg twice weekly. Is there
special reasons for the higher dose? Between expense and
inconvenience I am glad to take Enbrel once weekly.

| For me the obvious reason was the severity of my P. Have about 80% coverage
on the legs and torso so the Derm, who is the head of the department at MUSC
in Charleston, thought it was necessary to start at 50mg twice weekly. It is
only a 30 copay for me monthly so the expense is not that great.

I also just started 50mg twice weekly (down to once weekly after 3 months).
The only major coverage areas are the scalp, one leg, and the palms of my
hands (which is really annoying), but I also have a worsening case of
psoriatic arthritis to go along with it. Copay is only $40/quarter, so it's
actually cheaper (for me) than the pills they had me on before.
