| This is really long and likely off topic here and there (its LATE) but read
it anyways I have had HSV2 since I was 15! I am 26 now, and have had
the same partner 7 yrs, and he has never had even a single hint of an
outbreak. I have never used any kind of suppressive therapy or even
abstained from sex because I only just now found out for sure I had it - I
had an outbreak during pregnancy, and now remember EXACTLY who and when I
got it.. he was a kid and said it was a rash from soap and whacking off..
f'n liar!...GRR.. Anyways I asked to be checked and even though the doc said
it didnt look like it (simply welts on my butt cheek, only twice on my
genitals) he would, and it was! I had been misdiagnosed, told it was the way
my body dealt with stress (because when I cried hard, or lacked sleep, i
would have them the very next day) I got the fever and pain so bad on the
inner thigh/around the back of my leg where by leg stops and butt starts
that I DREADED using the restroom because the cold of the toilet seat on the
fevered skin hurt SO BAD. I have even had it diagnosed (when I was 20) as a
furuncle - messed up hair folicles/boil.
ANYWAYS - the doc said that my b/f may never get an outbreak but after 7
yrs more than likely carries the virus ( he for sure has hsv1 because he had
horrible cold sores as a kid).. most people actually have the virus, yet
only have one initial outbreak, their body builds up an immunity or
something.. .. speaking of which - I cannot remember the "primary
outbreak"... since I have still only got these welt like outbreaks... so not
even everyone has those!
