Do you see vivid coloured patterns any time you close your eyes?

| There had been a few posts here over the time of people reporting that
they see vivid coloured patterns ANY TIME they close their eyes. I was
always wondering how one can account for this phenomenon. It didn't
seem to be a usual transient aura symptom, because people said it
occurred every time, reproducibly, they closed their eyes. And one
could not dismiss it as just hypnagogic imagery, because some noted
that the effect was visible also during the fully awake state of mind,
during each rime of the day. I now wonder whether this may be a very
minor and benign variant of what is called persistent aura, a sort of
persistent aura that occurs only under the condition of closed eyes. I
have not made a note of the previous posts, I think one of them was
from Catherine Yronwode I believe. Could you write your experiences
down here if you are acquanited with this phenomenon of seeing vivid
colours each time when you close your eyes - Thanks, KP

| I do see bright colors and ever-changing patterns when I close my eyes.
Also, if the room is totally dark, and I look at a red or blue light, I see
wavy, radiating arms around it. It's not a glare, but difficult to explain.
My eyes have been tested thoroughly and no ophthalmologic abnormalities have
been detected. Sometimes, I see bright blue sparks after coughing or
sneezing.
Yep, I'm weird. =)
Hope this helps,
-Nova
