I cannot read any recent messages because of the above. I deleted many many
messages, but still get this prompt. I can go online, and do not understand
why I get this prompt. I have Outlook Express for these messages. Can
anyone help?

You might be getting that error message because your hard drive
is too full. You'll need to delete more than just some messages -
probably uninstall some programs. If you use your computer a lot
and can't make enough free space, it's time to buy a new hard drive.
I hope this helps.

Make sure you empty your temp directories and temporary internet files,
recycle bin and also be sure to use Windows to uninstall your programs so
you clean up nicely just to be sure, but you need to do some hearty cleaning
of house or you'll get it again soon.

Just to cover bases, are you running virus protectiona and maybe something
for spyware?

Michelle,

Please tell me what "programs for spyware" are, and where do you get them?

There is a good one called AdAware by Lavasoft that you can download free
off the internet. Do a search on google and you will find it.

Our antivirus program has a Spyware scanning option. We also run
Adaware and Spybot regularly as some programs catch things that others
don't. My computer is usually free of these things but Trend does
manage to block some things and I have Firefox set to stop popups and
downloads etc.

You can get a free copy of Adaware at Download.com or click the free
link from here.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

or http://www.lavasoft.com/ (scroll down to Downloads)

Spybot can be found at http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/
or
http://www.download.com/3000-2144-1...page&tag=button

You can find a variety of freeware and shareware programs at
http://www.download.com/Online-Priv...tml?tag=stbc.gp

or http://www.tucows.com/downloads/Win...pywareCleaners/

Thanks, Michelle.
Thanks, 'Did.
I'll try out everything you both recommended.
I suppose I'll find out why I'm doing it when I read their web pages.
Cheers,
BobB

Bob, the best one we have found is the Microsoft beta version of the spyware
package for XP. We deal with this all the time in the state of Wyoming IT
and it's been fairly significant as you can see. We tested most all of them
and find Microsoft's is the best...I know those who are anti MS might hate
that...but when you have to fight, you should fight with all you got.

You can go to microsoft.com and go to the downloads section and type
antispyware in the search field. That should give you the info you need.

done antthing about yet). Incidentally, I forgot to thank you, Joy, for the
