| Hello,
My name is Natalya, go by Nat. Has anyone hear ever heard of a
"Delirium Migraine" or "Delirious Migraine"? I've now had two - one
with a headache, the first without (strange no?). If anyone has heard
of these of can point me in a direction I'd be oh so grateful.
Nat
(PS) I am not very PC savvy with googling and searched and stuff

I haven't run into that term before. Perhaps it is also known by another
name. What triggered them and symptoms did you have?

| Hi Nat -
the only thing I have found on this is that delirium can be caused by
migraines. see http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/cont...ll/325/7365/644 for
a little information. I have a feeling it is probably set off by the pain,
and I know that with mine, I often had severe anxiety attacks when I had my
migraines, which could be a mild form of delirium.
Welcome to the group - I hope you find the help you are looking for.
Hugs
Jane in AZ

Hello to all - thanks for the warm greetings (hiya Ronnie )
The delirium migraine I guess explains it - I am delirious - have
flash backs, act drunk (though I don't drink and am not drunk, nor
have taken anything) answer questions not asked, babble, just act
outright odd. I have had two now. Scary as hell cause I now realize
that one happened while driving - I thought the car was out of
alignment.
I do have a consult set with my pain doc on Dec 20th (he's on vac and
the only one I will talk to) I hope to go off (slowly) my pain med
altogether and maybe clean out my system all together as of right now,
I am on nothing for migraines, except the ER visit of office visit for
a steroid shot which is the only thing that works. They are coming so
often now I am a bit wary of taking in so much steroid med
I shall be reading here as much as I can to get to know you all - I
have heard such wonderful things about this group.

I'll post some links below.
babbling is often one of the migraine effects. Sometimes happens in
the prodrome (before pain hits) stage. Some people call it "Chatty
Cathy". It depends on which side the pain is on for me. My most
frequent migraines are left sided but the right sided ones are the
most severe, most resistant to meds and affect speech. Aphasia
(problems speaking, thinking of words etc.) is also a migraine
symptom. Sometimes I can babble on and sound completely coherent but
if I have to actually think about what I am saying, the pain increases
and I can't answer. I sometimes babble on about subjects that I
normally don't have a clue about.
Sometimes I have problems walking, seeing properly etc. I think most
often right side.

Wow! Thanks soooo much! Now maybe I can better understand. For me
it has always been right side - right above the right eye brow.
Migraines are bad enough, add this delirium stuff and you really DO
think you're going crazy! In the first one I ended up in a huge
fight, I thought, with my husband, who was so bewildered. I actually
sprang out of bed where I had be vomiting the guts into a bucket
(sorry about the visual) and screamed at him that I would sure as hell
show his sorry f*ng a** that there was too allspice in the spice can
labeled allspice. I NEVER use foul language, well, a bit, but not
those kind of words. That one he threw me in the car and took me right
to the doc - even tho they won't do walk ins. He called them from the
parking lot so I could go in the back way and not embarrass myself (I
was still ranting about the spices). Sheesh. Almost wish I HAD done
drugs way back in the 70's (I did none) just to have an explanation
like flashback.
Thank you very much again.
Nat
