Extreme Personality Poses Risk of ADHD, Conduct Disorder

Excerpts:
Description

Children with personalities marked by aggressiveness, mood swings, a sense
of alienation and a need for excitement may be at greater risk for attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder or conduct disorder.

Newswise - Children with personalities marked by aggressiveness, mood
swings, a sense of alienation and a need for excitement may be at greater
risk for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or conduct disorder,
according to a new Florida State university study.

The study, published in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, is
the first to investigate personality trait patterns among children who have
ADHD, conduct disorder or a combination of both. It is important to learn
more about the co-occurrence of ADHD and conduct disorder because the
consequences are so severe, Taylor said.

I don't know much about ADHD, so feel free to correct me.

Did this study, as reported here, say that kids who have ADHD are more
likely to have ADHD?

No, it says, according to this summary, that
BAD kids get ADHD, or that they have Personality Disorders,
and their excessive behavior leads them down
a road to ruin.

Sort of like the way Pot leads to Heroin, etc.

Gosh. Jan claims that the Journal of Psychology and Psychiatry carried
out the research?

LOL.

Psychologists carried out the research, Jan. They have no vested
interest in the prescription of ADHD drugs. As you know.

Doh! You ought to read some of the scientific literature on ADHD. You would
know that this is not news. Instead, you would know that these are common
traits of people with ADHD.

We have talked about how kids with ADHD have more risk-taking behaviors and
a greater sense for excitement, as reflected in their greater use of drugs
in this forum, as well.

Personality traits and ADHD has been studied before. Here is one example:

If you search scholar.google.com with the words ADHD and personality, you
will find many more.

Why Jan? Why does someone have to post under their real name? So you and
your ilk can contact their employer? Call them on the phone? File a
complaint with their ISP? Send unsolicited emails to their spouse who is
not involved in Usenet?

YOUR problem, which is the same problem that anyone who does that has,
is that you are incapable of dealing with issues and conducting an
intelligent conversation. Thus, you make it about the person, rather
than the issues.

G-d's Justice System

When we judge others, we are setting our own personal justice system. If I
am constantly finding fault and criticizing others, I send a message to G-d.
Shortcomings should be noticed and highlighted; there's no room for mercy

No kidding :-> !

Global sales for all sleeping pills, called hypnotics, will top $5
billion in the next several years.

The number of adults aged 20-44 using sleeping pills doubled from 2000
to 2004, according to Medco Health Solutions, a managed care company.
Sleep problems are commonly reported in the elderly, but the increase
in spending on sleeping pills was highest in this period for 10-19 year
olds, possibly due to an association with medication for attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). .....

In the next portion of the midrash, the sages teach that it is fitting for
people to speak in clean, appropriate language:"

The words of Hashem are pure'...In the Torah, God chose to write eight extra
words in order to avoid using terminology which was not 100% 'clean. In the
Book of Bereishit, for instance, Noach is told to choose for the ark from
among 'the pure cattle and from the cattle that is not pure...' [- instead

Diversion noted, won't work.

YOU dredged up ancient history.

As everyone can tell by looking at the attribution lines and amount of
">" signs there are, Mark wrote that you snipped. If he had wanted to
pretend you wrote that he would have added a ">" which he didn't.

Hope this clarifies things for you,

Right, idiot, that is why I typed "ME" in front of it. Your obsessive
compulsive need to argue is showing.

Idiot.

Complain to the person who said that. I did not.

What diversion, idiot? I was very specific regarding my unilateral
ending of the flame war with Ms. Rosenthal. It applies solely to her. I
have not attacked her in any manner whatsoever since then.

Your feeble efforts to inflame the war have failed.

YOU do it all the time, idiot. The fact is, you have a double standard
and that incident showed it for the world to see. YOU encourage stalking
by remaining silent.

No diversion, idiot. Right on the money. YOU were bleating and braying
over some poster being anonymous, and I addressed your obsessive need to
dig up dirt on people.

> YOU dredged up ancient history.

Not at all. And, if it were, it merely follows your low standards.

I thought that typing "ME" in front would clue Jan into seeing that I
was acknowledging that I wrote it.

Sadly, monosyllabic words confuse her.

What it clarifies, is you trying to cover for Mark as usual.

And being a hypocrite.

You attributed it to me by pasting it with the amount of quote marks
">" to correspond with the attribution line(Vashti wrote in
message...) indicating which text I wrote. Learn how to quote and
attribute will you?

Oh, and I'm not a mind reader, ok?

Oh, learn how to quote and attribute will you... please? And while
you're at it, how to read quotes and attributions too.

If after all this time Jan still can't understand quote marks and
attribution lines, then typing "ME" in front of your text is not going
to help her. Maybe you need to actually type "MARK WRITES:"?

Vashti is pointing out the obvious that you do not understand.

Jan had no comment and did not snip. Hmmm...

Another comment she let stand.

You whined about something that YOU do. Clearly not ancient history.

Agreed. It is so easy to have higher standards than you.

But then he would be accused of lying because he typed, not wrote.
