| Since when can actors overrule a doctor's prescription?
Isn't this illegal practice of medicine?

Cruise isn't practicing medicine, he's practicing religion. Which at
the moment isn't regulated.

It certainly is when Christian Scientists take a child off insulin.

In the U.S. most states have religious exemption laws that specifically
protect parents and caregivers. It's not "practicing medicine".

Since freedom existed.
Since when do doctors, or school officials have the right to force
medication, especially controversial medication, upon children?

Huh?
If this 3 year old girl was given drugs four years ago that means she
was being prescribed to three months before she was conceived.
Now that's what I call preventive medicine.
Or is it predictive?

Is $cientology a religion? What other religion copyrights their
teachings and sells them?

Not to my knowledge. Care to document your claim?
I can go to a library and take out any religious tract for any religion
except one, the Kriminal Kult of $cientology.

Nothing about any god copyrighting...but about a *religion* copyrighting...

Why?
Gawd didn't copyright it. It his His word and not the word of any
particular religion to copyright, is it not?

I was referring to tithing. "Copyright" may not be the right word, but
the concept is the same.

In what way? Tithing is a way of directly giving money to a church to
support it (or get a tax deduction for it, at least). Copyrighting is a
way of establishing your ownership of a work and preventing others from
using it without your permission.

Good point.
With the Kriminal Kult of $cientology, it is the word of a third rate
sci-fi writer.
<Aside to self:ON>
Am I being too charitable calling L Ron 3rd rate?

Not really. You can still get "THE WORD" without paying. Participating
in the church is another aspect.

So you agree with us, that religions do not copyright their material and
sell it for their own gain...?

Hmmm...I can buy the books that have all of my religion's concepts, its
teachings, its dogma...and the money from the sale goes to the publisher(s)
(which are *not* part of the church itself)...but I choose to support my
particular parish church (and by extension the diocese and the world-wide
church) by the contributions I give (usually more than a measly 10%)...
BTW, proper tithing is not only giving of one's money, but also of one's
time and talent....
