I don't think you need a dx to enlist a coach. At least, I can't see
why you would. Insurance probably wouldn't pay for it without a dx,
if it would even pay at all... that's about the only issue I can see.

Lol. I'm inattentive type... my mom only goes to certain stores and
parks in the same place every time so she doesn't lose her car. Her 3
brothers combined have had a total of 6 or 7 marriages and about 10
careers. One of them was, at various times, a truck driver, cook,
restaurant owner (he bought out the place he worked at), insurance
salesman, HVAC repair guy, and now owns the company he used to do HVAC
work for.

What I'd do is just report that your parents can't find your report
cards and tell whoever you are going to for a dx about those ADD
tendencies.

Do you feel lazy? Seriously. If you are an underachiever like I was,
and deep down you are sure you're not a lazy bum, then you've either
got ADD, psychological fear of success, or some other psychiatric
issue going on. Nobody consciously chooses to feel like a failure.

Since my dx, I've gotten a better job, had my mom tell me she notices
a big difference in my attitude, and reconnected with God. I feel
better than I have ever felt, and with the help of meds and my
therapist, I'm putting my life together for the first time ever.

The point is, just *getting* the dx, whether it is ADD or something
else, is a big help. You've already taken the big step, which is
realizing there's a problem.
