America Hears - I got one
|
|

| I received it this week. It's sounding good.
I'll say this: for a computer tinkerer it's a lot of fun.
That was a major reason for going the AH internet
route rather than a local dispenser.
If there's interest I'll post details.

Please do - I'm thinking of going that route. Can you reprogram the
aids yourself?

Yes. Without limit. Fall back on AH factory setting when in trouble :-)

I will do this. However, I'm only on my day five and haven't talked to AH yet.
Next week I'll call them with my ten questions easily answered.
Probably next week I can type here an initial report. (It will be
favorable and may be the end of the story.)

These answers seem awfully glib. Are you sure that your questions will be
"easily answered"?
Are you sure "It will be favorable and may be the end of the story?"
I suspect that you are a shill for AmericaHears. They often try to drum up
sales in slow months, with "users" like you.
Leave these folks alone, they have enough problems communicating without
having to wade through newsgroup spam attempts.

| You think so??????????
I'm happy with my AH's.

That's great. It's also a different response than slathering all over the
place about how wonderful the experience is. I have no problem with people
getting hearing aids anywhere, I just have a bias against manufacturers
trying to dupe people.
I encourage anyone savvy enough to be computer literate to try AH. They may
be pretty cool, though I haven't tried them, since I have my own NoahLink
gear.
I just don't like spammers.

I like my aids from AH as well, and getting pretty tired of the whole
spammer tirade from an audiologist. Sheesh.

I have no ax to grind about AH, but I don't like spamming.
Don't think I have a right to an opinion?
Too bad.

Let's see...the guy posted what? two messages, one in response to a
question. You've posted three totally unsolicited and without any
meaningful info.
So who's the spammer?
Do you have any proof about your 'spamming' accusations?
What happened Michael? You were gone for quite a while and now you're
back. Time to add your new alias to the kill file...
And so the signal-to-noise ratio of this ng goes even lower...

No anger here. Just tired of all of your "opinions," which you're fully
entitled too. I think you need to take an ax-grinding look in a mirror,
though. The way you represent yourself does a disservice to your
profession.

No, it does not. I don't mind if you wish to sell your hearing aids. There
is a market for your services. Just don't lie about it, or pretend you and
your cronies aren't trying to increase sales.
You are. Having other shills denigrate me makes you look bad. It doesn't
affect me, I don't sell hearing aids online.

Michael W. Ridenhour FAQ - Second Edition
Michael W. Ridenhour is a practicing Audiologist and frequent
poster to "alt.support.hearing-loss" where he has built the
reputation of a "Jekyll & Hyde" Serial Bully. He has a history
of posting to different groups under many different pseudonyms,
including but not limited to:
Gandolf the wise
mich...@ridenhour.com
gand...@infi.net
"Thos. Jefferson" <TJeff@ monticello.org>
He also has a website at: http://www.ridenhour.com, where you
may view his picture and where his name appears nine different
times on a single page, some instances go so far as to include
the questionable prefix of "Dr."
He seems not to be satisfied with normal discourse of
dispensing information and guidance in a support group
such as "alt.support.hearing-loss" without being rude and
provocative to others, both new comers and regulars, alike.

"Zorro" has.
Please forgive me for bullying noms de plume.
What a silly fellow you are, Zorro.

I looked it up and the doctorate is from an accredited school. Why do you
say "questionable prefix of Dr.?"
see:
Accreditation
A.T. Still university of Health Sciences is accredited through:
The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools, 30 N. LaSalle St., Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602, 800-621-7440.
The university of Michigan, Notre Dame and many other schools have the same
accreditation. I don't understand your objection.

Then file them under 'no stone left unturned'. How much business are they
going to drum up on usenet?
