| I am a psychology researcher at the university of Florida, and am
conducting a study on how various people respond to important social
issues. Deaf individuals' input is often neglected by researchers, and
the resulting research doesn't accurately reflect how all people in
this country feel or think. I recently had an e-mail conversation with
someone who opened my eyes as to how many deaf people experience
marginalization in this country, and I would appreciate input from that
community.
If you are a deaf individual and would like to contribute to the study,
it may be accessed at http://survey.psych.ufl.edu/websocial. The survey
takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and the study has been
approved by the university of Florida's Institutional Review Board. To
identify as a deaf individual, I would appreciate your checking "other"
when your nationality/race is requested at the beginning of the survey,
and type in "Deaf". I realize this is not an ideal place, but is the
best I have at the moment.
Once you click the consent link at the bottom of the web page above,
the survey begins. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free
to contact me at the e-mail address above, or using information found
at the survey link above.
Thank you so much to anyone who is willing to participate. Please feel
free to forward the link to others who would be willing to participate
as well.
