Deaf Initiative in Information Technology (DIIT) would like to inform
and invite you to attend their upcoming workshops held at NTID/RIT,
Rochester NY. DIIT sponsors computer and information technology
workshops designed especially for deaf and hard-of-hearing

PC OS: Managing, Maintaining & Troubleshooting - May 15-19, 2006
Description: In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the
specific skills they need to install, maintain, upgrade, and
troubleshoot the Windows 9x, Windows NT/2000/XP Operating Systems (OS).
This workshop also can prepare participants for the software portion of
the A+ Certification test offered by CompTIA. Cost: $500

Introduction to XML: eXtensible Markup Language - May 31-June 2, 2006
Description: Extensible Markup Language or XML is a new markup
language designed to describe data.
It focuses on what data is in order to structure, store, and send
information. Industry uses XML to share computer data easily with
other computer programs, business partners, and customers. Cost: $300

Advanced XML: eXtensible Markup Language - June 5-7, 2006
Description: This workshop is a continuation of the Introduction to
XML Workshop. This advanced workshop will cover topics related to
using XSLT to transform data, creating element groups, and working with
the document object model. Cost: $300

PC Hardware Maintenance & Repair - June 5-9, 2006
Description: This hands-on workshop is designed to give participants
the skills needed to maintain, upgrade, and repair a Windows-based
personal computer (PC) and keep it running in top condition. This
workshop can also prepare participants for the hardware portion of the
A+ Certification test offered by CompTIA. Cost: $500

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 - June 5-9, 2006
Description: Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 is an extremely powerful
and useful Web design tool for easily creating Web pages. Participants
will appreciate the power of Dreamweaver to generate HTML code, and
will also learn how to manipulate that code as needed. Students will
learn the basics and explore in depth the capabilities of Dreamweaver
and consider how they can use their acquired skills for creating Web
sites in their own job settings. Cost: $500

Network Security_Part 02 - June 12-16, 2006
Description: This second workshop in network security will provide
participants with the skills needed to actively monitor a network,
perform a risk assessment, determine the best solutions to resolve
challenges, validate and authorize data that enters/exits the network
infrastructure, and maintain a secured network infrastructure for
Internet and area networks. Cost: $500

Introduction to Java Programming - June 12-16, 2006
Description: This workshop will provide participants with the
introductory knowledge needed to use the popular Java programming
language to write stand-alone programs for PCs using the Sun Java
Studio Creator development environment. Cost: $500

Macromedia Studio MX - June 19-23, 2006
Description: From cutting-edge graphic design to developing
database-driven e-commerce Web applications and everything in between,
Studio MX 2004 offers serious tools for visually-oriented graphic
designers and code-oriented Web and multimedia programmers alike.
Participants will learn to integrate all five applications to create a
database-driven ColdFusion site and learn how to send data in and out
of Flash. Cost: $500
