Hi

Does anyone have any information about when the new Metrix range from
GNResound will be available? (www.resoundmetrix.com).

Thanks
Bruce

I e.mailed GNR and they replied by return stating it would be available in
the U.K mid to end July. Interested to hear from anyone already using this
model.

From what I gather, GnResound are promoting the Metrix as being better
than the Savia, so any info about features and comparative data would
be appreciated as I'm going to try the Savia soon. The Metrix isn't
here in Australia yet.

GN Resound Metrix is a 16 channel instrument with noise reduction, fast
attack and release times, highly effective inverse-phase feedback
suppression, datalogging and automatic microphone switching. I
participated as a Beta site provider for the product and produced some
amazing results with it. The power cic has a very impressive real world
fitting range(I was able to stretch it to 95 db loss at 4k), and unlike
products from many other manufacturers, the noise reduction works very
well with very little degradation of the speech signal. Great
product...I'd say its quite an improvement over the Savia, with none of
the artifact pumping normally associated with Phonak's slow as can be
noise reduction algorithms.

I hadn't heard anyone mention that before. Have you trialed the Savia?

Two questions for you...#1 as a beta tester, didn't you sign an NDA? #2
what do you hope to accomplish by trying to fit a 95 dB loss at 4 KHz?

Dusty

Thanks for your information. Can you tell me if the Metrix has
user-customisable features like a volume/remote control, and whether
it can be interfaced to other equipment such as FM systems. In its
current form, the Metrix website is fairly spartan in the real
information it provides.

For anyone in Australia, the Metrix will apparently be released here
in September.

Cheers
