Author ringing, pressure, infections

Ever since I got back from my honeymoon I experienced ringing in the ears
and high frequency hearing loss.
The doctors are saying its just hearing loss and that is why the ears are
ringing.
But ever since then my ears never seem to completely equalize, once in a
while I feel pressure in the ear and I get an ear infection and/or fluid in
the ears at least twice a year where I never had an infection in my life and
I was 30 at the time.

Things I have been reading point to eustacian tube dysfunction, barotrauma,
and a couple other things, but the doctor wont even look into those as a
possibility.

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

CJ

Honeymoons lead to all kinds of problems.

Have you seen an ENT, or just your GP?

If s/he did a tympanogram and found fluid in your ears, the decongestants
-would- be the first step. If you feel this treatment has gone on too long,
seek a second opinion. Try a teaching hospital in your area.

A bit touchy today?
I didn't remember the "HE" by the time I wrote my response, but that's beside the
point. When you have a "mystery illness", a teaching hospital is your best
bet...IN MY OPINION. They are VERY thorough. Yes, you have to put up the the
interns practicing on you, but your case is managed by their professors...not only
board certified, but in a position to have "seen it all". I stand by my advice.

Of course you do. Most people can't stand close scrutiny of their
"opinions". You are wrong of course and want to consign people to
needless experimentation. I believe one should go to a professional who
has intelligence and knowledge. Not someone whose primary impetus is
trying "new" things.
You physicians-are gods- people are so predictable.
