I have been diagnosed with Meniere's for about 5 years. I am also
totally deaf in one ear since 1982 due to idiopathic sudden nerve
deafness. My good ear contains a stapedectomy inserted 40 years ago to
correct otosclerosis. The hearing in my good ear dropped from
moderately impaired to severely impaired over the past 3 months,
apparently due to the Meniere's. I recently had a bout of dizziness and
nausea etc. also due to the Meniere's.
Needless to say, I am quite concerned about the recent events as I see
total deafness approaching.
I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has a similar
situation or who can be of support in any way

Get another opinion asap. It sounds to me as if you have a failure of
the stapedectomy, causing a fistula, which presents as increased hearing
loss, vertigo and nausea. There is a possibility that your condition can
be reversed. Go see the best ENT you can, post haste, other than the
ones who gave you the Meniere's diagnosis or who did the stapedectomy.

A simple fistula test should tell the story.

It's not Meniere's. There is something else goin on.
