Initial Dissatisfaction with Divas
|
|
|
| From my Mom who got Divas last week...
Very disappointing! I shall try to get an appt. to see aud. tomorow for
adjustment. They are nothing like mentioned in the Widex brochure.
Background noise is amplified and very annoying, and clarity of conversa-
tions is not as good as with my old aids(widex senso). I was asked at the
dinner table when I was going to get my new hearing aids - I was wearing
them. I feel
stupid not understanding what people are saying. When I got them Thurs., I
was pleased with hearing in the aud's. office, but as soon as we got
outside, the traffic roared, and road-noise and A/C loud inside the car,
making it difficult for me to understand the driver.

| I had a similar feeling about MY Divia, too. I only use one as I have a
BiCros fitign.
It took a bit but the Audiologist decided to send it back to Widex. I got a
complete new aid and what a difference! It seems it was difective some how.
Crowds were terrible with the orginal one and things were too loud.
Now that I have it new and properly programed I love it. I did have to get
use to it's wider range of frequency. My old Senso cut in 30 dB HIGHER! so
I hear more; I finally go use to the noise like static in the car; with the
new one it's not too bad. I love listening to music both with the music
program and with out it. I love that it is quite in a quiet room; My Senso
C18 kept cranking up the sound, where as this one stays quite and I hear
more like I use to and can hear the TV in the next room but it's not
obtrusive and It's quite as I read. Do go back and suggest they may need to
send it back if they can't get it programed well. Now it's great! I had to
use the Senso while it was away and sure can tell the difference.
I think you are hearing sounds that you haven't heard in a long time but it
does perhaps need changing. It's like any electronic device some just are
bad. I have a two year warrenty on my set-up. and a $250 decutable loss
replacement insurance as well! coun't be happier! I hope you will be too!

I've had Widex Divas for 30 months now, for a moderate high frequency
loss, and I'm very pleased. The noise cancellation works well, and the
aids definitely help me with understanding speech. From the start I
was pleased, and over these 30 months, my audie has tweaked them a
couple of times, and I continue to feel like they're working as
advertised. Good luck getting yours set to work as intended.
