Is there a medication that will give me a personality?

I've tried many along with therapy but still, I just don't fit in with
people. Most recent med. is Effexor. I'm negative and crabby all the time
and always have been. I don't seem to find the joy in life that everyone
else does.

Am I going to be miserable for life? Just one of those people?

I have the same thing. I figured it was just lack of sex.

My GP told me that ADs reduce the depression but not to expect
miracles. He said it would help me to be the person I was before I was
depressed. ie. If I was a bright, sunny person then I would hopefully
return to that but if I was a grumpy, crabbit person it wouldn't make
me bright, sunny person.
Best thing to do is to make a conscious effort to note down good things
that happen each day and make a conscious effort to say at least one
nice thing to every person you speak to or spend time with. Then you
will start to feel better about yourself and the world around you. Of
couse it will take a little while to get used to.

That makes sense totally. Thank you very much.
I don't ever remember being very happy so maybe I was always just depressed.
I'll see what I can do :-\

**If it was so precise, then we don't have to argue. The problem was
sometimes AD do more than it was suppose to be! Got it!**

This does not make sense! What was so precise? The fact that some ADs
do more than they are meant to was NOT even being discussed.
Therefore...no problem to be got!

P.S. Knowledge can be shared however if that knowledge is inaccurate
then it can do more harm than good.

hey mon (heh heh)

look what you wrote: is there a med that will give me a personality....

ADs are meds. you already have a personality. meds change it, yeah,
but you can't really go shopping for one.

shit, that's all i can really say. ok enough with the deep thoughts.
oh, avoid alcohol. that gives you a personality and ruins your life and
kills you.

Better than no thoughts at all

Alcohol makes me more depressed so I don't need it.

Thanks Mala,
