Wellbutrin XL hair loss Or Zoloft?
|

| As I said in my first thread on this forum, I am talking 450mg of
Wellbutrin XL and 200mg of Zoloft ED.
Would either drug cause hair loss? I'm 20 and I think I'm balding! I
started taking Propecia and have not connected the two until now. Do you
think it's wellbutrin? If so, will my hair return??

| I would like to add, would any cause dandruff? It seems I am getting a
lot no matter how much "Head and Sholders." Could be the Propecia.

Both drugs are associated with alopecia (hair loss) at incidences of 0.1 to 1.0%. At
such low rates, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about causation. Of the two,
bupropion has developed something of a reputation for causing hair loss, though of
the "unofficial report" category.
The only way you might determine if either drug is causing hair loss would be to
discontinue them. Some men just go bald, you know?

Again, anecdotal links are made between Propecia and dandruff. Some say it is a
temporary side effect.
Many sites recommend using Nizoral shampoo (ketoconazole), as alopecia is also
related to fungal infection in the scalp.
